This part of Devon has for centuries been, sheep country, which brought prosperity to those involved with the production of wool.

Today wool commands low prices, reflecting a universal lack of appreciation of its qualities. It is a valuable product of grass - which in Devon we have in abundance!

The Wool Market brings together breeds of sheep, alpacas and goats together with their shorn fleeces which local breeders have raised to provide quality fibre for craft and industry. This is an opportunity to meet the farmers and gain an insight into the birthplace of our fibre industry.
